About the Job: 
 We are seeking a highly motivatedEngineering Technicianto support test, validation, and prototyping activities across our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) development lifecycle. You will work closely with Test Engineers, Design & Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations to execute tests, assemble fixtures, collect and analyze data, and help improve processes that bring battery and power electronics systems from concept to production. This role blends hands-on test execution with engineering support, ideal for someone with solid mechanical/electrical aptitude, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive mindset. 

 

Responsibilities: 

Test Execution & Validation Support 

  • Execute lab and field tests on components, subsystems, and full battery systems -- including electrical, mechanical, and environmental stress tests. 
  • Build and assemble test fixtures, prototypes, harnesses, and instrumentation setups. 
  • Instrument products and systems for data collection; operate test equipment safely and accurately.  
  • Collect, organize, and archive test data and records for engineering review. 
     

Engineering Collaboration & Support 

  • Work with engineers to refine test plans, troubleshoot failures, and implement corrective actions.  
  • Provide structured feedback on design, assembly, and test processes to improve product quality and yield.  
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) builds, pilot runs, and process documentation. 
     

Quality, Documentation & Safety 

  • Perform in-process and final inspections to verify compliance with specifications. 
  • Maintain clear documentation of test setups, procedures, results, and deviations. 
  • Adhere to safety protocols, maintain organized workspaces, and proactively flag hazards. 
     

Continuous Improvement 

  • Identify inefficiencies and propose improvements to tooling, workflows, and methods. 
  • Contribute to Lean/5S initiatives and standardization efforts. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Associate degree/technical certification or equivalent experience in Engineering Technology, Mechanical/Electrical/Energy Systems, or similar field. 
  • 1-3+ years hands-on experience in technical testing, lab work, or system validation. 
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude; proficiency with hand tools and test equipment.  
  • Experience with test setup, data collection, and basic troubleshooting.  
  • Solid communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams. 
  • Hands-on problem-solver with an eye for detail. 
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and evolving engineering environment. 
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to track trends and communicate insights. 
  • Safety-focused and quality-driven 

Preferred: 

  • Experience with battery systems, energy storage, or power electronics. 
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python scripts for data logging).  
  • Understanding of environmental stress or reliability testing methods

 

 

The hourly rate for this role ranges from $35-50/hour, with actual pay varying based on work location, experience, and skills.
