Job Summary: You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHICIAN in the Planning Branch (Code 960), Deck/Structural Work Center (Code 962A), Production Department (Code 900) of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR (MARMC).

Major Duties:

  • You will review designs and completed specifications, detailing all aspects of job planning and execution.
  • You will read and study drawings or latest drawing alteration for compatibility in relation to work request.
  • You will train military personnel in the planning and estimating of structural repairs.
  • You will work with Production Department supervisors to support fluctuating workload requirements.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience developing plans, sketches, and work procedures for Formal Work Procedures (FWP) and Controlled Work Packages (CWP) for structural repair or modification based on established criteria and standards. Experience assisting in conducting on-site inspections of ship systems (e.g., doors, hatches, water-tight items) to compare actual conditions with work requests and identify necessary changes. Experience utilizing technical documentation, such as manufacturer's drawings, technical manuals, and federal supply system data, to support the planning of repairs and the procurement of materials. Experience assisting in the training of military or junior personnel in the planning and estimating of structural repairs.
