THE ROLE

As an Engineering Manager at Eventbrite, you will have the opportunity to drive impact through ownership of challenging and impactful parts of our platform. THE TEAM

The Risk function consists of two high-performing technical teams with diverse skillsets including data analysts, data scientists, product managers, and engineers. We work together toward the common goal of making Eventbrite the trusted marketplace for live experiences. We collaborate with product teams across the companies to control payment, content publication, and account security risks. Working against an ever-changing threat landscape, we are vigilant for emerging problems and pride ourselves on our ability to respond rapidly at scale. We strive to build solutions through collaboration, building for flexibility, while staying focused on innovative solutions to these complex problems. 

 

THE SKILL SET

  • At least one year experience in engineering leadership and people management
  • Strong technical background (3+ years) building web products and ability to contribute to design and architectural discussions
  • Demonstrated ability to grow and lead high-functioning, diverse technical teams through coaching, training, and career development aligned with their goals.
  • A solid technical background with a passion for AI/ML technology, rapid prototyping, and experimentation.
  • Experience working with a highly collaborative environment, driving a team who ships code to production often.
  • Develop a sustainable, healthy work environment focused on creative problem solving and innovation.
  • Experience with fundamental cloud technologies (preferably within AWS) and the DevOps approach to autonomous team ownership of mission critical infrastructure.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.

 

BONUS POINTS

  • Direct experience in content moderation, fraud and spam detection or related topics
  • Experience leading completely remote and distributed engineering teams, with global cross team collaboration.
  • Experience working in an experimental and agile environment.
  • Strong Motivation for innovation and creativity.
  • Experience or a passion for organizing and attending live experiences.

 

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Eventbrite, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is listed below. You may also be eligible to participate in Eventbrite’s incentive program(s) (such as equity, annual incentive bonus and commission plans), subject to the applicable rules and restrictions.
