NVIDIA

Engineering Manager, Prediction and Planning - Autonomous Vehicles

US, CA, Santa Clara Full time

NVIDIA has been transforming computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing for more than 25 years. It’s a unique legacy of innovation that’s fueled by great technology—and amazing people. Today, we’re tapping into the unlimited potential of AI to define the next era of computing. An era in which our GPU acts as the brains of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can understand the world. Doing what’s never been done before takes vision, innovation, and the world’s best talent. As an NVIDIAN, you’ll be immersed in a diverse, supportive environment where everyone is inspired to do their best work. Come join the team and see how you can make a lasting impact on the world.

At NVIDIA, we are building the next generation AI-native autonomous driving architecture — combining classical safety stacks, foundation models, and scalable AI systems into a unified production platform. Autonomous driving is entering a new era. The next generation of AV systems will not be purely classical robotics stacks, nor purely end-to-end neural networks. The future lies in the deep integration of classical safety architectures and large-scale AI-driven systems. We are looking for a leader who can build and scale the engineering organization delivering these systems into production.

What you"ll be doing:

You will lead teams building the architecture behind next-generation autonomous driving systems while driving execution from research through production.

  • Drive architecture development across Prediction / Planning / Decision / Control

  • Guide the integration of AI-native driving systems, including VLA/VA models and World Model–based reasoning

  • Ensure system adaptability through strong safety architecture and fallback strategies

  • Lead development of scalable Classical × E2E hybrid autonomy stacks

  • Drive cross-team integration across perception, planning, simulation, and infrastructure

  • Ensure systems scale from research prototypes to production deployment

  • Build and grow a high-performing autonomy engineering team

  • Mentor senior engineers and develop future technical leaders

  • Drive technical roadmaps, execution milestones, and engineering perfection

  • Coordinate complex cross-functional programs across global teams

What we need to see:

  • BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or related engineering field (or equivalent experience).

  • Strong technical leader with experience building sophisticated autonomy or AI systems. 4+ years of experience managing a team. 8+ years of overall meaningful experience.

  • Deep experience in self-driving vehicle technologies or robotics platforms

  • Strong understanding of Prediction / Planning / Control architectures

  • Experience with large-scale AI systems or ML infrastructure

  • Proven track record to drive complex technical programs across multiple teams

  • Experience building and scaling high-performing engineering teams

  • Successful candidates are able to balance long-term architecture vision with disciplined execution and delivery.

Ways To Stand Out From The Crowd:

  • Successful track record of leading autonomous driving software releases or feature closure cycles from prototype to mass production.

  • Experience with simulation-based validation, scenario management, and data-driven quality tracking frameworks.

  • Deep knowledge of E2E AV software integration from perception through control, including dependencies, interface management, and performance tuning.

  • Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and scale technical leaders in a constantly evolving organization.

  • Passion for delivering impact in autonomous driving technology.

NVIDIA is widely recognized as one of the world’s most innovative technology companies — driving breakthroughs in AI, autonomous systems, and high-performance computing. As part of our Autonomous Driving division, you’ll work alongside world-class engineers to bring next-generation driving intelligence from research to reality.
