Engineering Manager

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do : 

  • Own planning and delivery of engineering work: translate product goals into a clear roadmap, maintain a healthy backlog, and ensure predictable, high‑quality releases. 
  • Provide technical leadership at the “senior engineer” level: participate in architecture and design reviews, challenge approaches, and help your team make pragmatic trade‑offs. 
  • Create an environment where engineers can do their best work: remove blockers, improve ways of working, and foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 
  • Partner with Product and UX to align on priorities, scope, and success measures; communicate status, risks, and trade‑offs clearly to stakeholders. 
  • Champion operational excellence: drive good engineering practices (code reviews, testing, CI/CD), and ensure your services meet expectations for reliability, performance, security, and observability. 
  • Lead, coach, and support a team of software engineers (mix of backend, frontend, and/or QA) through 1:1s, feedback, and clear growth plans. 

These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview: 

  • Solid experience as a engineering manager for software engineering teams (typically 2–4+ years), or as a senior/staff engineer regularly leading teams and projects. 
  • Hands-on technical background with React, .Net, relational Database, expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), CI/CD pipelines with  
  • Experience using or managing teams that leverage AI-assisted coding and productivity tools 
  • A track record of owning delivery end‑to‑end: planning, execution, risk management, and releasing high‑quality software on a predictable cadence. 
  • Clear, confident communication skills – you can explain technical topics to non‑technical stakeholders and represent your team in cross‑functional forums. 
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, onboard, mentor, and develop engineers with different experience levels. 
  • Comfortable working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban): partnering with Product, running or supporting ceremonies, and continuously improving how the team works.                       

It would be great if you had these to, but we’ll support you if you don’t:  

  • Familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot) and an interest in helping teams become more AI‑native in how they build software. 
  • Experience collaborating across multiple teams or locations and influencing engineering culture beyond your immediate team.
