Role Purpose

The Engineering Lead is responsible for all aspects of engineering platforms, processes, procedures, and technical support for delivery of engineering services for Johnson & Johnson (J&J) properties in the UK and Ireland. The role is accountable for engineering compliance, operational excellence, and the implementation of model operations and maintenance programmes aligned with global processes and procedures. The individual will act as the single point of contact for the account within the sub-region and ensure seamless collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

General

  • Deploy engineering platforms, processes, procedures, and tools.
  • Administer engineering assurance and compliance programmes namely JLL Client Assurance Program or JCAP
  • Provide technical support to service delivery teams.
  • Manage strategic partners for engineering services delivery.
  • Support delivery against any energy reduction glide path.
  • Achieve zero unplanned downtime
  • Support service delivery teams to meet financial targets.
  • Ensure operational excellence and compliance for the service delivery teams.
  • Support the Capital Investment Planning Cycle

Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee the assurance and compliance programmes
  • Lead major incident investigations.
  • Ensure operations and maintenance strategies and plans comply with J&J/JLL Engineering programme globally.
  • Manage and support professional development, training, and succession planning for all reports
  • Oversee and implement technology systems such as Corrigo and JLL Smart Buildings Program to support service delivery and reporting accuracy.
  • Support and track implementation of standard operating, emergency, and maintenance procedures.
  • Implement and share best practices and innovation within JLL Corporate and other accounts.
  • Ensure consistency in monthly reporting across all facilities and geographies to client satisfaction.
  • Enforce zero tolerance to unsafe working practices.
  • Deliver engineering transition excellence for new facilities and business on-boarding aligned with the global operating model.
  • Support transformation of existing operations to the target operating model.

Client and Account Management

  • Act as the single point of contact for the internal JLL Engineering delivery function; serve as escalation point and client interface.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders in J&J’s organisation.
  • Develop and implement the Engineering Services account business plan aligned with J&J’s and JLL’s objectives.

Financial Management

  • Support development of engineering budgets
  • Assist facility management teams to deliver on financial targets by facility
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting review meetings, as required
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell services and collaborate with other business lines at JLL.

Contract Management

  • Ensure engineering requirements are included in all contracts with Suppliers
  • Manage achievement of key performance indicators, SLAs, and service level measures.
  • Oversee change control and incident reporting systems.
  • Manage governance processes for the engineering line of business.

Other Responsibilities

  • Support and sync up with JLL Corporate office as agreed.
  • Serve as operational reference on business pursuits; represent critical operations as needed.
  • Support research and development of innovative ideas to enhance competitiveness.
  • Evaluate, propose, and pilot appropriate tools/processes supporting engineering services.
  • Ensure effective and timely implementation of training plans for managers, technicians, and partner organisations, ensuring competency
  • Drive initiatives to enhance JLL's capability to self-deliver services and reduce reliance on partner organisations.
  • Ensure legal, statutory, and contractual compliance of engineering practices, executed consistently across accounts.
  • Develop feasibility proposals.
  • Advocate for equal opportunities.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned by the line manager

Key Performance Measures

  • Deliver all services in accordance with SLAs, KPIs, Savings Targets, Satisfaction Survey, Personal Performance objectives, and financial targets.
  • Meet objectives as agreed in the Individual Performance Management Program (IPMP).

Experience & Competencies

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in engineering service management, leadership roles in Facilities Management, and other relevant technical fields.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer or equivalent.
  • Significant experience in life sciences engineering operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage significant operations
  • Previous experience in country engineering responsibilities.
  • Skilled in business transitions, transformation, and change management.
  • Commercial expertise in engineering contracts.
  • Practical knowledge of hard services contract delivery and best practice tools and techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong attention to detail and accountability.
  • Analytical skills and systematic approach.
  • Experience in developing processes and procedures.
  • Proven project methodology approach.
  • Ability to work in a team and multicultural environment.
  • Planning and organisational skills.
  • Customer focus and relationship management.
  • Commercial awareness and business development experience.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Professional Engineer or equivalent (preferred).
