Ensure the efficient management of engineering and maintenance activities, guaranteeing the reliability of facilities, compliance with regulatory and quality requirements, optimization of financial and operational resources, and alignment with BMS policies, guidelines, and values.

Key Responsibilities

 Review contracts and technical proposals from suppliers, ensuring technical, regulatory, and financial compliance.

 Prepare, review, and monitor the planning of engineering and maintenance contracts.

 Develop and manage the annual budget for the area, aligned with corporate goals and strategic projects.

 Create, monitor, and review performance indicators (KPIs) for internal teams and outsourced service providers.

 Assess resource allocation and performance by team, service, and contract, proposing continuous improvement actions.

 Manage projects led by the Engineering and Maintenance department, ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, cost, and quality.

 Perform technical approval of proposals for outsourced services.

 Ensure Quality Management in Engineering and Maintenance activities, in compliance with GxP requirements and quality systems.

 Report deviations from procedures, conduct issues, and non‑conformities to Internal Services Management and BMS corporate systems.

 Plan and communicate actions that impact other areas, ensuring cross‑functional alignment and collaboration.

 Lead and coordinate in‑house and outsourced engineering and maintenance teams.

Required Competencies

Education and Language

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics).
  • Intermediate English proficiency.
  • Professional Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering and/or Maintenance.
  • Experience in regulated environments, preferably under GxP requirements.

Technical Competencies

 Project management.

 Maintenance team management and leadership.

 Development and monitoring of performance indicators (KPIs).

 Review and evaluation of technical proposals.

 Contract and supplier management.

 Budget planning, financial control, and cost management.

 Knowledge of EHS (Environment, Health & Safety).

 Solid knowledge of GxP requirements (HVAC, validation / qualification process)

 Strong knowledge of building infrastructure and utilities.

 Proficiency in quality systems and tools, including procedures, risk analysis, change control, and deviation management.

BMS has an occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This structure includes site-essential, site-by-design, field-based and remote-by-design jobs. The occupancy type that you are assigned is determined by the nature and responsibilities of your role:

Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility. For these roles, onsite presence is considered an essential job function and is critical to collaboration, innovation, productivity, and a positive Company culture. For field-based and remote-by-design roles the ability to physically travel to visit customers, patients or business partners and to attend meetings on behalf of BMS as directed is an essential job function.
