SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. The Engineer, SCADA provides engineering services to support safe, reliable and secure remote operation of the SaskEnergy/TransGas pipeline system. The Engineer supports the implementation of highly technical software, computer infrastructure, communications and cyber security facilities of the pipeline system.
Non-union - This position is permanent full time.
Manage assigned projects involving engineering design, plans, prepare scope documents, construction and commissioning of facilities or SCADA system improvements. This includes; project approvals, cost estimates, budgets, schedules, procurement of materials and services, oversee construction and commissioning activities.
Prepare, review, approve design software and business reports, evaluating and implementing new operational technology to provide cost optimization while meeting business and legislated requirements.
Provide technical support in the investigation, analysis and resolution of SCADA systems, Gas Measurement accounting system or communication problems.
Provide on-call support for SCADA system and communications.
Develop and/or deliver technical training for operators and technical support personnel.
Oversee contract staff providing instruction and guidance.
Prepare and assist in development of plans and business cases to optimize systems, facilities and processes identifying opportunities for improvement.
Other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Computer or Software Systems is preferred).
Professional Engineer Designation registered to practice in Saskatchewan.
Five (5) years of progressive experience.
Engineering experience related to SCADA systems and data communications would be an asset.
Ability to work on a team while building and maintaining effective relationships.
Must have a continuing record of professional development and continuous learning.
An Engineer-in-training may also be considered as a path to advance to a Professional Engineer.
A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters, is required on occasion.
A Class 5 Driver’s License is required.
