Engineer, Plant Process

MEX - RP Queretaro - F744 Full time

The Engineer shall have and demonstrate skills required to production processes.  The position is based in Queretaro, Mexico.  The position is part of an engineering organization that provides capital project support along with some day to day troubleshooting.  The position requires a candidate that has the ability to work in a team environment with engineering professionals representing mechanical, electrical, and civil disciplines. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Evaluate and improve existing production processes by identifying inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and waste, and implementing solutions to increase productivity and reduce costs.
  • Design and develop new processes, equipment layouts, and workflows to support new product launches or capacity expansions.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, downtime, scrap rates, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards (e.g., GMP, HACCP), maintaining proper documentation and process controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain to resolve process issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead or participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement tools.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), process specifications, and training materials for operators and technicians.
  • Support validation and qualification of equipment and processes, including trials, testing, and implementation of new technologies.
  • Ensure safe working conditions by incorporating safety standards into process design and improvements.
  • Coordinates projects with other departments as required.
  • Designs electrical systems for complex processes and equipment, and supports installation, commissioning, and startup of the equipment.
  • Makes branch plant trips or vendor visits as required to accomplish project objectives.
  • Makes cost and schedule estimates on new or reworked equipment for project proposals. Develops the project plan for the control aspects of a project.  Is the project leader for the electrical aspect of projects related to project management (budget and schedule control, status reporting, customer interface, performance to design objectives, etc).
  • Maintains a high skill level through independent reading, and technical courses.
  • Creates documentation packages for installation contractor bidding/execution of control system projects. (Scope of Work, Conduit Layouts, Cable Schedules, and Connection Drawings).
  • Provides commissioning/startup support for controls projects.

This position is located at our Queretaro Mexico Plant.
