Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an Engineer Mission Assurance located in Salt Lake City, UT.

What You'll Get to Do:

  • Review and extract quality assurance requirements from documentation.

  • Establish, implement, and maintain program mission assurance plans and practices used to ensure products and tools conform to company standards of excellence.

  • Support tailoring and implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) policies and procedures, including performing internal compliance audits and bringing non-conformances to resolution.

  • Interpret mission assurance requirements and ensure those requirements are integrated into program plans, specifications, and product documents.

  • Ensure compliance with contract program, quality, organizational, and industry alert requirements

  • Provide oversight into discrepancy review and failure investigations, as well as root cause and corrective action determinations. Analyze and interpret trends and implement improvements to key metrics.

  • Witness software testing, qualification, and integration and test.

  • Provide lab support and lab verification in preparation for software testing.

  • Develop and deliver metrics and reports as needed.

  • Collaborates with engineering, manufacturing, and other functions to ensure quality standards are in place and met and to help resolve issues.

  • Preparation of first article inspection packages for internal approval or presentation to the final customer.

The Ideal Candidate must be able to read documentation such as contractual standards, program plans, statement of work, software specs, test plans/procedures, software test reports, interpret requirements for testability and clarity, software escapes, develop audit plans, identify critical software non-conformances, read and interpret drawings, and knowledgeable of Root Cause and Corrective Action process and tools. The candidate must be dedicated to teamwork and be able to work very well in a team environment.

Basic Qualifications for the Engineer Mission Assurance:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM related field with 2 years of manufacturing or quality experience; Master’s degree in a STEM related field with 0 years of experience.

  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, etc.)

  • Experience conducting internal audits (AS9100, In-Process, Factory Accountability).

  • Ability to obtain and maintain SECRET clearance.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current Active DoD Secret Clearance, or higher.

  • Manufacturing experience.

  • Experienced with Microsoft Excel.

  • Experience working with electrical or mechanical design requirements and specifications (IPC, J-STD, MIL-STD.)

  • Software Quality experience.

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
