Major Duties:

  • You will utilize engineering disciplines to execute system safety and environmental safety an occupation health (ESOH) programs.
  • You will review and interpret weapon system designs and requirements to determine system safety hazards during design, development, test, operation, maintenance, in-service, and disposal phases of the program lifecycle.
  • You will review electrical/mechanical schematic drawings to interpret potential safety concerns and provide recommended safety mitigations to reduce the likelihood of a mishap within the design of a weapon system.
  • You will perform analyses of system safety and ESOH documentation in support of program acquisition milestones.
  • You will develop safety data packages for weapons systems and weapon delivery systems to support review by independent safety review authorities.

Qualifications: TO QUALIFY FOR ND-04: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 band (GS-09 through GS-11 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer applying principles of safety engineering to perform system and environmental safety for aircraft, vehicle and ship platform integration, or weapon and energetic systems. TO QUALIFY FOR ND-03 Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-02 band (GS-05 through GS-08 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer applying basic principles of safety engineering to accomplish developmental assignments utilizing basic techniques, procedures, and methods.
