Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Engineer 3 – Engineering Operations to join our Cloud Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Kubernetes (K8s), and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform. This role is critical to designing, operating, and scaling secure, highly available cloud platforms that support business-critical workloads.
Job Description
Cloud & Platform Engineering
- Design, deploy, and operate AWS-based cloud infrastructure supporting production-grade workloads.
- Build, manage, and scale Kubernetes (K8s) clusters on AWS (e.g., EKS).
- Develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules for AWS infrastructure (VPCs, IAM, EKS, EC2, load balancers, etc.).
- Partner with application teams to enable cloud-native deployments on AWS and Kubernetes.
Engineering Operations
- Own day-to-day operational health of AWS and Kubernetes environments, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and RCA.
- Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and cost optimization of AWS infrastructure.
- Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident troubleshooting for cloud and platform issues.
- Drive continuous improvements in reliability, observability, and operational excellence.
Automation & DevOps Practices
- Automate AWS infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
- Apply Infrastructure-as-Code and GitOps best practices for AWS and Kubernetes platforms.
- Reduce operational toil through scripting, automation, and self-service tooling.
Collaboration & Technical Leadership
- Collaborate with software engineers, SREs, and architects on cloud platform design and operations.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Develop and maintain platform documentation, standards, and operational runbooks.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5–8 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or engineering operations.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS, including core services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, ELB/ALB, EKS, RDS, S3, and CloudWatch.
- Proven production experience with Kubernetes (K8s).
- Strong experience using Terraform for AWS infrastructure provisioning.
- Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking, and distributed systems concepts.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools in AWS or cloud-native environments.
