Role Title: Information Security Intern
Location of internship: 1 Angel Court, London EC2R 7HJ
Length of Internship: 8 weeks
Start Date: 15th June - 7th August 2026
Schedule/Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 17:00
Student Type: Penultimate or Final Year students
This role is particularly suited for students studying: Cyber Security, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Cloud Computing, or related technical subjects at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
About the Role:
This internship is designed to provide practical exposure to how Information Security supports a modern digital bank, aligned to our 2026 Cyber Strategy. The programme focuses on building foundational knowledge across cloud security, threat detection, and secure engineering, while giving interns hands-on experience with real tools and processes in a safe and controlled way. The focus is exposure, understanding, and small meaningful contributions.
Main duties & responsibilities:
- Learn how Information Security supports LHV Bank across cloud security, application security, operations, and regulatory compliance.
- Gain exposure to key security tools such as SIEM platforms, cloud security platforms, and vulnerability management tooling.
- Work with Security Engineering on secure development practices and basic DevSecOps concepts.
- Observe and support Security Operations activities including monitoring, alert triage, and incident response processes.
- Explore cloud security concepts across AWS and Azure environments.
- Participate in a simple threat modelling or risk assessment exercise.
- Use a basic security checklist approach to understand assets, ownership, key risks, and whether controls are in place and monitored.
- Complete a small practical task such as improving a dashboard, documenting a process, or identifying minor security improvements.
- Take part in a security discovery activity, for example identifying risks or misconfigurations in a safe test scenario.
Students will gain:

Person specification:
- Strong interest in cyber security, information security, or secure engineering.
- Basic understanding of technical concepts such as networks, cloud, applications, or operating systems.
- Comfort using common digital tools and learning new platforms quickly.
- Ability to analyse information, follow structured processes, and document findings clearly.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn in a structured environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a responsible approach to handling information.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Professionalism, accountability, and openness to feedback.
Nice to have:
- Exposure to cyber security coursework, labs, projects, or certifications.
- Familiarity with concepts such as SIEM, vulnerability management, cloud security, DevSecOps, or threat modelling.

- Any experience using scripting, dashboards, or security tooling in academic or personal projects
