We are currently looking for a Engineer 2 – TCS to join our team in Smyrna, TN. The Overseas Chief Quality Engineer Department engages with various departments to provide voice of customer in relation to all aspects of the product life cycle quality management. We are responsible for quality milestone management, validation for new model and model year vehicle launches, vehicle reviews and meetings, and data analysis and reporting to drive action for most influential indicators and brand image achievement. Overseas Chief Quality Engineers have a comprehensive understanding of warranty concerns on all Nissan and Infiniti models, report top warranty claims to responsible departments for investigation and resolutions. We are tasked to ensure that we deliver to our customers a quality product that meets their expectations and supports our overall corporate brand image.

A Day in the Life:   

  • Support quality assessment and validation activities to support new model and current model launch program milestones including Vehicle Long Drives, Port Quality Audits, Prototype/Production vehicle Quality Audits & Evaluation.

  • Report top field quality concerns to responsible technical investigation departments for investigation and resolution.

  • Communicate top concern resolution status to entire field product quality improvement management teams.

  • Report feedback from current model quality issues to the new product development process.

  • Analyze key market indicators to identify priority issues to be addressed.

  • Assist with other various tasks as needed.

Who We’re Looking for:

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related engineering discipline

  • Years of Experience: 18 months related professional experience required; automotive hands on-experience preferred

  • Must have technical understanding of automotive design, development processes, production, troubleshooting and maintenance

  • Knowledgeable of word processor, spreadsheet and other PC and mainframe applications

  • Ability to work with cross functional teams

  • Ability to maintain databases and participate in field studies

  • Ability to identify and prioritize issues pending investigations and establish action plans

  • Ability to make clear and concise presentation material that conveys the intended message

  • Ability to develop solutions to problems of varied scope and moderate complexity following policies and practice.

  • Ability to perform work onsite at Smyrna, TN.

  • Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel 20%-30% to include day and overnight
