The People and Culture Office is an integral part of the business strategy and decision-making process. We are a team of collaborative HR professionals, dedicated to strategic and operational programs and services that support both staff and organisational objectives.

As our next Employee Relations team member, you will be committed to fostering a positive workplace culture, offering expert ER and IR advice and support and ensuring compliance with employment laws and policies.

The Opportunities

We are pleased to offer two full‑time opportunities to join our People and Culture Office within the Employee Relations team. These roles provide the chance to work in a collaborative, high‑impact environment supporting positive and compliant workplace practices:

  • 1 x Ongoing, full‑time – Employee Relations Consultant
  • 1 x Fixed‑term (9 months), full‑time – Employee Relations Advisor

As the Employee Relations Consultant, you will act as a trusted specialist advisor, providing operational, tactical and expert guidance across a broad range of employee and industrial relations matters. You will play a key role in enterprise bargaining and contribute to strategic, organisation wide initiatives that support a positive and compliant workplace culture.

As the Employee Relations Advisor, you will provide practical advice and support on employee relations matters, helping to build positive workplace relationships and ensure compliance with University policies and employment legislation. You will support investigations, assist with conflict resolution, and contribute to training and education initiatives that promote fairness, respect and accountability across the University.

What We Offer

  • Employee Relations Consultant – Ongoing, full‑time position with remuneration of HEW 08/08 $112K – $128K (pro rata), plus 17% employer superannuation.
  • Employee Relations Advisor – Fixed‑term (9 months), full‑time position with remuneration of HEW 06/07 $91K – $109K (pro rata), plus 17% employer superannuation.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in human resources, law, industrial or employment relations, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience providing advice on employee relations matters, with a sound understanding of HR principles, employment legislation, industrial instruments and policy application.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and deliver high‑quality client service in a collaborative environment.
  • Well‑developed written skills, including the ability to prepare professional reports, recommendations and supporting documentation.
  • A commitment to University values and to promoting a positive, fair and respectful workplace culture.
