About the Role
As a Functional Owner of BIOS, you will coordinate the technical and process-related activities belonging to the design, development and integration of the embedded hardware bring up platform (BIOS) supporting our Automotive Intelligent Cockpit projects and products.
You will serve as the primary interface between the BIOS team and all other internal and external stakeholders such as HW Development, Qualification, Software and Architecture - ensuring that the BIOS requirements and deliveries flow seamlessly between all domains.
This role emphasizes coordination, requirement traceability, and process discipline, helping the team stay aligned, compliant, and efficient. You will report directly to the BIOS Engineering Manager and collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment where hardware and software innovation meet.
What You Will Do
- Act as the interface between BIOS technical experts and other stakeholders (Hardware, Qualification, Software, Manufacturing) aligning requirements, timelines, priorities, and changes related to the BIOS domain across the organization.
- Drive and support the introduction and usage of HARMAN Standard Tools and processes like (DNG/ALM/ELVIS) within the BIOS-Team.
- Provide regular reporting on BIOS product maturity, open items, and risk status to the Hardware PL, Software PL, and Project Management.
- Coordinate BIOS-related activities across domains, ensuring requirements and deliveries are clearly communicated, traceable, and technically correct.
- Maintain clear documentation and requirement linkage to ensure visibility and traceability throughout the BIOS lifecycle.
- Create, manage and monitor BIOS tickets, dashboards, and maturity reports, ensuring timely responses and transparency.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of BIOS development workflows, ensuring alignment with ASPICE and SAFe frameworks.
- Represent the BIOS function in internal and external (customer-facing) technical reviews, ensuring a consistent and professional technical image of the team.
- Support effort estimation for BIOS activities during RFI/RFQ phases of new projects.
What You Need to Be Successful
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Automation, Mechatronics, Physics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in embedded systems (preferably in automotive or other safety-critical domains).
- Solid understanding of both hardware and software, including schematics, system bring-up and manufacturing.
- Proven ability to interpret and evaluate requirements, balancing technical feasibility and project needs.
- Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS Next Generation, JIRA, Confluence, ALM, Elvis) and good knowledge of traceability and process workflows.
- Experience in cross-functional coordination with Hardware Development, Hardware Qualification, Manufacturing and Software Development.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills — able to represent the BIOS domain both technically and process-wise.
- Structured, proactive, and calm under pressure; able to navigate ambiguity and maintain clarity across teams.
- Fluent in English.
Bonus Points if You Have
- Experience with automotive MCUs such as Renesas RH850, NXP S32K, or Infineon TriCore.
- Experience with SoC development, BSP, supplier management.
- Experience with hardware development process.
