Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as an Electronics Engineering Manager 3 based out of Elkridge, MD.
You will report to the Troy Hill Director of Manufacturing and Site Lead and will be responsible for overall direction, leadership, and management of approximately 30 employees. This cross-disciplined organization includes Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering, Test Engineering, and Facility Engineering Management. The selected candidate must be able to work collaboratively with other E&S and business leaders, as well as other enabling functions to meet our commitments and address/resolve challenges in a timely manner.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Lead and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team (15-20 engineers, 1-2 managers), ensuring alignment, performance, and development
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Oversee project activities, design processes, and adherence to guidelines across test, manufacturing, and facilities functions
Develop, coach, and evaluate managers and engineers to build technical depth and leadership capability
Set priorities, allocate resources, and establish performance objectives aligned with program and site goals
Implement training programs to enhance technical skills, safety, and compliance
Manage team engagement, recognition, and resolve personnel issues; facilitate knowledge sharing and mentoring
Oversee department budgets and support compensation planning
Support proposal activities and technical/management deliverables
Build relationships with internal/external customers and collaborate with peer managers for consistency
Lead or support department initiatives, technology roadmaps, and IRAD projects
Monitor key performance indicators, drive cost-saving and efficiency initiatives, and champion automation and process improvements
Present deliverables at technical and operations reviews
Improve test yields, defect tracking, and reduce cycle times, support engineering redesigns and cost reduction
Lead efforts to improve product quality, reduce rework costs, and enhance operational efficiency
Oversee test engineering for new product development and sustainment, including diagnostics and repair
Coordinate resources and scheduling to balance workloads and staff flexibility
Integrate design changes and validation with supply chain, engineering, and quality teams
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and contract obligations
Manage facility engineering to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations; execute maintenance, upgrades, and capital investment plans
Collaborate with environmental, safety, and facilities teams to maintain compliance and support long-term infrastructure planning and risk mitigation
You must be able to leverage leadership abilities, established processes, and best practices to achieve sustainable top performance, a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a (STEM) discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) with 8 years of relevant professional experience; Master's degree in a (STEM) discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) with 6 years of relevant professional experience
Experience in technical problem‑solving, solution development, implementation, root‑cause analysis, and progress monitoring
Experience leading diverse engineering teams, attracting and developing top talent, and managing functional people‑management responsibilities in an engineering environment
Experience with functional management tools and processes: staffing, engineering metrics, training resources, and standard operating procedures
Experience briefing senior leadership, executives, and customers effectively and convey technical information at a high‑level
A current/active DoD Secret clearance is required
The ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP) is required
U.S. citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM fields
Current Special Program Access (SAP)
Experience in multi-disciplined engineering environment
Experience with RF subsystem design and analysis
Experience with platform integration
Experience with interactions between sensor and platform
Experience with active and passive antenna test
Experience with indoor and outdoor range
Experience in Program management, Functional management, and/or Stakeholder management skills

Primary Level Salary Range: $167,500.00 - $251,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
