Job Summary: THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, Position Description Number D2325000 & D2240P01 and is part of the DE 166 Maintenance Squadron, National Guard.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: Military Grades: E-4/SrA - E-6/TSgt Compatible Military Assignments: Must have or be eligible to obtain the following AFSC: 2A9X4 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WG-2610-12: Must have at least a three-skill level in one of the compatible PAFSCs, with 12 months of work experience or compatible aircraft maintenance/armament/munitions craftsman (or seven skill level), and required ASVAB scores required by FWS 2610 PAFSC and be able to successfully complete formal training that will result in the award of a compatible Five Skill Level AFSC. This position is an apprentice or journeyman skill level designed as a developmental opportunity to qualify for merit promotion to the dual status technician PD# D2240P01, Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic, WG-2610-13, craftsman expertise. WG-2610-13: Must have at least 12 months of specialized experiences working as an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic, WG-2610-12, and must possess the craftsman level of knowledge and skills to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. Experiences included the ability and skills to perform on-or off-equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on systems such as, automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigation systems. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE Qualification factors include education and competencies in performing work on integrated systems. Applicants must have the competencies (skills, knowledge, abilities, and behaviors) required to perform the duties on assigned aircraft in the Air National Guard Aviation Wing, Maintenance Group, Aircraft Maintenance Squadron or Maintenance Squadron; Avionics Element or Avionics Shop; Communications, Navigation/Electronic Warfare or Guidance and Control; Electronic Circuit Maintenance Pod Test Station (Pod Shop) or Electronic Circuit Maintenance Test Station (Avionics Back-Shop). The applicants' competencies are evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria, awarded military skills, completed military skill technical training, and professional military education criteria are always followed. The applicant's resume package must include military service experiences and relative civilian experiences in multiple-system avionics complexes consisting of integrated electronic avionics where the results and support accomplished major functions. Also, the applicants must provide any awarded maintenance certifications, military and/or civilian performance reports; related training certificates; and/or official college transcripts that support the Series' integrated systems work. MILITARY QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS A military skill set is determined by the applicable service classification and qualification requirements. An applicant must qualify for awarding of the established compatible military occupational skill that includes military rank restrictions, education requirements, physical and medical requirements, work capabilities, and military unit of assignment. Upon selection, a candidate is assigned to the position's compatible unit and military skill in accordance with the Air Force Enlisted Classification Directive, Air National Guard statutes, and National Guard Bureau regulations. For continued ANG Technician employment in any FWS Series 2610 position, the selected dual status technician candidate must obtain and maintain all compatible service specific military skill requirements in certifications, training, and education, and security clearances.
