Job Description:
The Electronic Design and Release Engineer will be responsible for the technical assessment and design release of automotive ECU components impacted by end-of-life or obsolescence. Leads component risk evaluations, defines form-fit-function replacement or mitigation strategies, or leads component redesign to ensures compatibility.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with hardware design teams and software engineers to align product requirements and ensure compatibility.
• Define and implement architectures that balance hardware constraints with software functionality.
• Develop test plans for hardware-software interfaces, perform debugging, and validate performance under real-world conditions.
• Act as a bridge between mechanical, electrical, and software teams to streamline product development.
• Maintain technical documentation, ensure compliance with industry standards, and support certification processes.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in designing automotive ECU components
• Strong technical experience using tools like C/C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink, real-time operating systems, CAN/Lin/Ethernet
• Strong experience with PCB/Schematic design, embedded systems, microcontrollers, FPGA
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with experience collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Experience with model-based systems engineering methodologies, agile development, risk and impact analysis, BOM management, and DPVR&R
• Understanding of automotive safety and regulatory standards (ISO 26262, ASIL, A-SPICE, AEC‑Q100 / AEC‑Q200).
• Hands-on experience with vehicle builds, prototype testing, and validation is a plus

Salary Range:
• $115,000-135,000
• The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
