We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Test Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess strong electrical and mechanical setup, diagnostics, and troubleshooting skills, combined with the ability to design, execute, and document complex test activities for aerospace or industrial systems.

You will play a key role in developing and running test procedures, building and maintaining test setups, and analyzing data to ensure products meet performance and regulatory requirements—including DO-160G RTCA environmental and qualification standards.

This is a 100% onsite role with estimated travel of 10% on an as-needed basis to support offsite testing (locally or domestically).

What you will do:

  • Set up, configure, and execute test systems for component and system-level validation.
  • Perform hands-on electrical and mechanical test setup, wiring, and fixture assembly.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and instrumentation issues during testing.
  • Read and interpret electrical harness and schematic drawings to support test development.
  • Interface with National Instruments (NI) hardware and other lab control devices for test automation and various means of data acquisition.
  • Develop, modify, and maintain test scripts in LabVIEW and/or Python.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze test data to produce clear, concise technical reports.
  • Ensure testing is performed in accordance with DO-160G RTCA or other applicable standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support product design, verification, and validation activities which will also include contributing to critical design reviews.
  • Maintain detailed test records and documentation in accordance with internal quality processes.

Qualification we require:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven hands-on experience in electrical and mechanical test setup and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of instrumentation, data acquisition, and control systems.
  • Proficiency in LabVIEW and/or Python for automated testing.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical harness drawings and schematics.
  • Working knowledge of National Instruments test and measurement equipment.
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting test data using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with DO-160G RTCA test standards.

Qualifications we prefer:

  • Experience with Teamcenter or similar PLM systems.
  • Knowledge of fixture design and fabrication for test setups.
  • CAD software experience with NX, Solidworks, CATIA, Inventor Pro, or similar.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

The salary range for this role is 112,000 USD - 224,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
