KBR is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Designer to work in close collaboration with engineers and designers to prepare a wide variety of manufacturing layout drawings, electrical drawings. schematics, illustrations. and other type drawings required for technical documentation.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Working in close collaboration with engineers and designers, prepares a wide variety of manufacturing layout drawings, electrical drawings, schematics, illustrations, and other type drawings required for technical documentation.

  • Make a variety of studies and analyses in connection with tolerance, materials, structure, wire gauges, terminal blocks, electrical components, and similar considerations.

  • Prepare estimates of drafting time for layout and detailed work for electrical & mechanical systems.

  • Complete drawings in AUTOCAD & Autodesk Inventor based upon familiarity with the construction and functions of equipment and utilizing knowledge of electronic circuits, controls, and components.

  • Direct and check work of lower-level draftsman.

  • Create & maintain electrical component libraries in AutoCAD & Autodesk Inventor.

  • Use a broad knowledge of mechanical and electrical devices, engineering mathematics, manufacturing methods, and related drafting practices to develop equipment and accessory construction drawings within established dimensional and weight limits.

  • From instructions, blueprints, photographs, equipment, sketches, and related source materials, develop wiring schematics, pictorial, isometric or true perspective drawings, exploded views, etc. to adequately illustrate equipment and component parts, units, and assemblies for purposes of maintenance, repair, overhaul, and operational instructions and for identifying replacement parts, and sub-assemblies. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one. 

  • College (or equivalent) training in Graphic Arts, Industrial Design or Engineering Design with a minimum of four (4) years of progressive related experience in engineering design/drafting.

Basic Compensation:

$60,000 to $75,000

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance
