Overview
Silent-Aire Limited Partnership is a wholly owned subsidiary of Johnson Controls. Silent-Aire is a technology driven company that designs, engineers and manufactures hyperscale cooling and modular data center solutions.
We have openings for this role at our facilities in Nisku and Sherwood Park and you must have a reliable transportation to commute.
This is a rotating day shift (6:00AM - 6:00 PM).
Roles & Responsibilities
Able to work alone as well as within a team environment, committed to ensuring the HVAC unit operates and passes all functional tests as per company standards
Basic understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), binary input/outputs and analogue inputs/outputs
Testing reports are required to be filled out with accuracy and completion for each unit
Able to safely hook up electrical connections and energize using proper PPE and safety guidelines
Able to safely start, operate and perform unit running functions and shut down
Ability to recognize and mitigate hazards that arise while the HVAC unit is in operational condition and respond effectively
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Formal electrical training, either Journeyman Electrician, Apprentice Electrician, Electronic Technician or deemed capable with in-house Silent-Aire training along with relevant electrical experience
Basic computer skills and knowledge
Basic mechanical skills and desire to understand and learn unit operations
Good communication skills; verbal and written
Able to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, systems or operations and unit operation manuals
Working knowledge of electrical test meters, tools and related equipment
Working Conditions
Commercial/Industrial environment.
Manual dexterity required to use necessary tools. caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards.
Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).
Ability to work in a safe manner by being knowledgeable and following Company safety Guidelines and expectations
Perform all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code
Long periods of standing.
Overtime as required.
