A Day in the Life:

The Electrical Supervisor ensures the safe, efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and components across assigned facilities. This role supports operational reliability by responding to electrical service needs, maintaining facility electrical systems, overseeing inventory of electrical components, and developing innovative wiring practices to improve efficiency. The Electrical Supervisor also provides training to operations staff, ensuring safe work practices and proper equipment use. Their work directly contributes to facility uptime, safety compliance, and overall operational performance.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and components, including programmable logic control systems, following established maintenance guidelines.
  • Prioritize and respond to repair requests for electrical systems, ensuring timely and safe resolution.
  • Select and install electrical panels, fixtures, protective devices, and related components in accordance with electrical code requirements.
  • Install and repair lightning rod grounding systems ensuring compliance with electrical codes.
  • Order materials and equipment, verify deliveries, and make local purchases as required.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation, including time certificates, job completion reports, purchase orders, and expense accounts—both manually and using computer systems.
  • Maintain inventory of electrical equipment and components, including replenishing stock, tracking usage, and keeping accurate records.
  • Develop and implement innovative wiring practices within electrical code requirements to improve facility efficiency.
  • Develop, track, and report Key Business Indicators (KBIs) related to electrical services and performance.
  • Train operations staff on safe electrical practices, equipment use, and proper care of electrical systems.
  • Operate and maintain a light-duty vehicle used for transporting staff, tools, and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as required to support operational needs.

Skills/Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Minimum three (3) years of related electrical or mechanical experience as a Journeyman Electrician.
  • Provincial or Inter‑Provincial Journeyperson Electrician Certificate required.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Technical Knowledge & Skills:

  • Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the role, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes and safe working practices.
  • Ability to train others effectively in electrical safety and equipment operation.

Essential Job Requirements

  • Physical ability to perform electrical duties in industrial facility environments.
  • Ability to work safely around electrical equipment, at heights, and in confined spaces.
