We are seeking a dynamic Lead Engineer, Materials Quality Engineering- Business Operations with a strong commitment to excellence and the drive to help build a world‑class raw material supply chain for the industry’s most advanced CMP Slurries and Cleans. This position supports the Materials Solutions Division and plays a critical role in elevating raw material quality for next‑generation N2 and beyond CMP applications.
The role:
In this role, the engineer will use statistical and analytical techniques to prevent and resolve raw‑material‑driven non‑conformances, while partnering cross‑functionally with Product Management, Production Engineering, and Customer Quality to develop OCAPs, technical reports, 8D analyses, and customer‑facing presentations. The position will also serve as a representative of the Materials Quality Organization during customer investigations as needed and will collaborate closely with teams globally.

This role is critical to achieving Global Materials Quality Engineering and Entegris corporate goals by ensuring supply chain continuity and delivering consistent, high‑performance CMP consumables to our customers.
What you'll do:
- Develops and maintains Statistical Process Control (SPC) for critical raw‑material parameters, including, control limit calculations, SPC rules, trigger mechanisms, and reaction guides.
- Applies statistical and analytical techniques to evaluate raw materials prior to production use, reducing customer OCAPs and preventing customer line‑stoppages.
- Leads 8D problem‑solving teams to conduct failure analysis, root‑cause investigation, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for raw‑material‑related defects; ensures corrective action closure within defined timelines.
- Generates, analyzes, and reports raw‑material quality performance through Pareto analysis, SPC, and process‑capability studies across assigned product‑line areas.
- Responds to customer inquiries and excursions by conducting detailed raw‑material data analysis, identifying linkages to customer performance issues, preparing OCAPs, and driving timely corrective actions.
- Develops and reports statistical data related to quality‑system performance, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and internal quality objectives.
- Supports and maintains the raw‑material failure‑analysis process, ensuring consistent feedback loops, communication, and CAPA implementation in alignment with customer requirements.
- Partners with the Global Materials Quality Engineering team and suppliers to facilitate root‑cause investigations, drive process‑improvement objectives, and co‑lead direct supplier communication during critical customer events.
- Leads and participates in material‑disposition decisions, coordinating hold/release activities and ensuring no escapes occur during quality‑issue review.
- Collaborates with Production, Engineering, and R&D to evaluate nonconforming raw materials and ensure appropriate, risk‑based disposition.
Technical Requirements:
- Solid understanding of chemical manufacturing processes, continuous improvement methodologies, structured problem‑solving techniques, SPC, and FMEA.
- Technical knowledge of abrasive particles, polymeric materials, simple and complex chems.
- Strong ability to analyze, synthesize, and summarize complex data sets to drive clear decision‑making and action.
- Experience working in a chemical or industrial manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with statistical software such as Minitab, JMP, or SAS.
- Demonstrated ability to apply sound technical judgment and autonomous decision‑making in a fast‑paced environment.

- Ability to develop and foster strong cross‑functional, supplier‑facing, and customer‑facing business relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills with a strong sense of urgency in meeting internal and external customer needs.
- Strong written and verbal communication and reporting skills, including the ability to translate complex technical analyses into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
What we seek:
- Education: B.S. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science required; advanced degree preferred. Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
- Experience: 10 years of experience in inorganic or organic chemical manufacturing, semiconductor fab or a closely related field.
- Experience in the semiconductor, microelectronics, or high‑tech industry required.
- Prior experience working directly with suppliers or customers on quality, technical investigations, or issue resolution is strongly preferred.
- Project management experience a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 5%, including international travel as needed.

Compensation: $114,000 - $142,500 per year range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
