Ameresco currently has a new opportunity for an Electrical Superintendent to join our team in support of the design, construction, and successful implementation of large-scale commercial and government projects. This position will support projects around Denver, CO.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite leadership for subcontractor workforce, overseeing all electrical construction activities.

  • Supervise installation of electrical systems including power distribution, transformer replacements, switchgear installation, and electrical re-hookups for new mechanical and geothermal equipment.

  • Support the Project Manager with planning and organizing project work, including management of the critical path and all electrical-related critical path activities, to ensure compliance with contract documents.

  • Develop and maintain a sequence of work and project schedule in collaboration with the Project Manager and scheduling team.

  • Assist in logistics planning and scheduling during pre-construction and early project phases.

  • Monitor and report on project progress, productivity, and schedule updates.

  • Ensure quality control and compliance with safety standards, NEC requirements, building codes, and jurisdictional and federal requirements.

  • Coordinate electrical scope with other trades including architectural, civil, mechanical, and commissioning teams to ensure proper sequencing and integration.

  • Provide technical assistance, documentation, and collaboration across teams.

  • Support inspections, testing, and turnover activities for electrical systems.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial or government electrical construction.

  • Ability to review confidential U.S. security information.

Additional Qualifications

  • OSHA 30-hour Certification or EM-385-1 Certification.

  • Demonstrated experience in electrical construction, including transformer and switchgear work.

  • Experience with medium- to low-voltage electrical systems (up to 480V).

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical construction processes, scheduling, contract administration, equipment, and manpower.

  • Proven ability to lead field operations and manage multiple priorities.

  • Experience with Quality Control management.

  • Strong verbal, written, and technical communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Familiarity with NEC, OSHA safety standards, building systems, engineering, and project management codes and practices.

  • Experience coordinating electrical work tied to mechanical or energy-related systems (e.g., geothermal).

  • Previous work on government (GSA, Army Corps of Engineers) or large-scale commercial projects preferred.

  • Strong commercial electrical experience will be considered in lieu of direct federal experience.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $92,000–$134,000 (presented in good faith). In addition to base pay, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, and may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity, depending on the role.

Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. This range supports our commitment to pay transparency and compliance with applicable laws. Compensation may vary by work location, including remote arrangements.
