Our Airborne RF Electronics Electrical Engineering Department has an immediate need for an Electrical Engineer II specializing in test software. This role is primarily focused on test software design, implementation, and deployment, with hands-on onsite support. The ideal candidate will work across multiple development efforts and play a key role in guiding test software solutions from concept through system integration. This position will reside within the Processing Production Design Support section that supports Advanced Programs.  

Location: McKinney, TX.

What You Will Do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain test software solutions to support product development and validation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams (hardware, systems, and manufacturing) to define test requirements and strategies
  • Lead and guide test software efforts through architecture, design reviews, implementation, and integration phases
  • Support multiple concurrent development programs, ensuring alignment with schedules and technical requirements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to test software and test systems during development and integration
  • Develop automated test scripts, tools, and frameworks to improve efficiency and coverage
  • Provide onsite support for system bring-up, debugging, and validation activities
  • Document software designs, test procedures, and results in accordance with engineering standards

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major.
  • A minimum or 2 years or more of relevant professional work experience with test software and test systems during development and integration.
  • Experience with standard engineering lab equipment.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance post-start is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Strong communication skills including report writing and presentations
  • Experience with Manufacturing Engineering
  • Knowledge of LabVIEW, LUA, C, MATLAB, Python programming languages

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
