The Opportunity:

CACI is currently looking for a mid-level Electrical Engineer to join our team supporting Office of Naval Research (ONR) for the Department of Defense.  Join our passionate team of industry-leading individuals on a program that leverages the best practices in Systems Engineering and Rapid Prototyping to integrate and deliver state of the art capability in support of our nation’s warfighters.

As a member of the CACI Team, you will support the men and women charged with safeguarding the American people and enhancing the Nation’s safety, security, and prosperity. Our warfighters are on the front lines, every day, protecting our national security from the increasingly sophisticated and complex threats of our adversaries.

CACI programs thrive in a culture of innovation and are constantly seeking individuals who can bring creative ideas to solve complex problems, both technical and procedural at the team and portfolio levels. The ability to be adaptable and to work constructively with a technically diverse and geographically separated team is crucial.

Responsibilities:

For this Electrical Engineer position, you will be responsible for designing, modeling, and simulating analog and digital circuits, or modify existing hardware.

You will:

Develop PCB schematics and layouts using Altium. Manage component selection to balance supply chain availability with low-cost targets.

Develop and integrate power electronics, distribution, and control systems for robotics platforms. Integrate custom electronics with COTS/GOTS hardware and sensor payloads to support fast-paced, adaptable project requirements.

Execute the complete in-house prototyping workflow from design to fabrication. Perform hands-on assembly, including soldering, wiring harness construction, and electromechanical integration, to build functional prototypes.

Ensure that a level 2 Technical Data Package (TDP) is prepared and delivered for assigned projects that reach the prototype or low-rate production stages of development. The contractor shall assist in the development of the TDP.

Create and maintain basic briefs for various prototype devices and prepare and deliver Test Plans for functional, performance, and environmental testing of prototypes.

Validate the performance and environmental resilience of rapid prototypes using standard electronic test equipment. Conduct thorough root cause failure analysis on components and integrated systems to rapidly inform iterative design improvements and ensure operational reliability.

Travel to various Continental United States (CONUS) locations to support live test events and operational evaluations. Provide essential on-site technical support, real-time troubleshooting, and data collection for prototype systems under test.

Interact with and coordinate prototype and low-rate production with external parties tasked with producing units for assigned projects.

Provide routine status updates and communicate urgent matters involving production issues to management and other stakeholders in a timely manner via phone, email, or other normal communication methods.

Purchase material for the government as needed to support prototype and low-rate production for assigned projects.
