The opportunity:
The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for managing and coordinating primary engineering drawings for BESS tender projects in APAC and AU team. The role focuses on INOPC Chennai and LBUs with customers.
How you’ll make an impact:
Preparation of Slds, Protection slds and Bess equipment layouts, Cable tray layouts, Earthing layouts and civil Inputs as well communication diagrams (SCADA) with the standard symbols and Equipment clearance as per requirements.
Ensure proper interface of primary equipment (transformers, switchgear, and other Bess components system etc.
Identify, resolve, and close the design clashes through regular interface meetings and drawing reviews.
Support related to primary and interface drawings.
Co-ordinate with internal and sales teams to address comments and close design issues.
Assist in preparing technical responses and revised drawings based on customer Feedback.
Review and validate key drawings including.
Primary General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
Equipment layouts and clearances.
Interface drawings (Electrical–Civil)
Ensure compliance with project specifications, and international standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI).
Verify constructability, safety, operability, and maintainability of all coordinated designs.
Tender Project Support.
Participate in design coordination workshops, interface with Engineering review meetings.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background:
Diploma /bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering (Diploma, EEE/BE, EEE) – Mandatory.
Should have 2–10 years of experience in EPC substation projects, with strong exposure to primary engineering and interface coordination.
Proven experience in coordinating Electrical and Civil designs within substation environments.
Strong knowledge of substation primary engineering and layouts.
Excellent understanding of multidisciplinary interfaces in substation projects.
Proficient in AutoCAD; familiarity with 3D software Like solid works etc.
Strong coordination and communication skills across disciplines.
Proactive problem-solving and decision-making ability.
Capability to manage multiple interfaces under EPC project timelines.
