Electrical Controls Technician

Ecolab is seeking an Electrical Controls Technician to join our team in Garland, TX. As a Controls Technician, you will be an integral part of the plant Maintenance team that maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots automated production equipment.

How You'll Make An Impact:

  • Provide daily operational support for control systems across the facility

  • Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and other automation components

  • Support S.C.A.D.A engineering (AVEVA)

  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues quickly and effectively

  • Participate in control system upgrades, process improvement initiatives, and capital projects

  • Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and system upgrades

  • Perform preventive maintenance and document all work performed

  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation

  • Ensure compliance with Ecolab’s safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Position Details: 

  • Plant Location: Garland, TX

  • Work Week & Shift: 2nd shift, 1:30PM - 9:30 PM Monday to Friday

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 5 years of experience in controls or automation in a manufacturing or industrial setting

  • 2 years of experience with PLC programming, HMI interfaces, and industrial networks

  • Understanding of electrical systems and instrumentation

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to read and interpret instructions and schematics in English

  • No immigration sponsorship available for this role

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs

  • Work in an industrial environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and chemical processes

  • Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and on elevated platforms

  • Ability to follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE

Preferred Skills:

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Electrical Technology, Industrial Automation, or Instrumentation & Control Technology

  • Experience in chemical, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments

  • Experience with Rockwall Automation

  • Experience with SCADA systems and industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus)

  • Familiarity with NFPA 70E and NEC standards

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

  • Solid track record of VFDs motor control

  • Solid track record of troubleshooting instrumentation

  • Solid knowledge of safety circuits both hardware and software

  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar design tools

  • Familiarity with SAP and CMMS systems

  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and project management skills

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is $34.27 - $51.41. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
