Dow has an opportunity for a EHS&S PS Composition Specialist located in São Paulo - BRA. The Composition Specialist is responsible for determining, maintaining, and improving the accuracy and integrity of product composition data for Dow products. This role is aligned with EHS&S Product Safety Operations and plays a critical role in enabling regulatory compliance, product stewardship, and high-quality EHS&S data across the enterprise.

The position requires strong analytical capability, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to troubleshoot complex composition and data operability issues. The successful candidate is process-oriented, comfortable working with interdependencies, and able to operate with minimal supervision in a dynamic, global environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply supply demand principles to prioritize EHS&S Composition related requests in accordance with defined work processes and job aids.

  • Determine and maintain EHS&S Compositions and executes data processing as prescribed in work process / job aids .

  • Identify EHS&S Composition data integrity issues/gaps, implement corrective actions to close those gaps.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve atypical EHS&S Composition issues in collaboration with Product Stewardship, Quality and Product Regulatory Services (PRS).

  • Interact on complex matters with interdependencies within the between Product Stewardship, Quality, PRS and EHS&S Integrated Services.

  • Improve workflow design and suggest EHS&S Composition work processes improvements .

  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance workflow design, standardize processes, and improve EHS&S composition work practices.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor´s degree in Chemistry or other related scientific discipline is required.

  • Experience with formulations and compositions.

  • Advanced Excel.

  • SAP.

  • Fluent English.

Preferred qualifications:

  • +5 years relevant industry experience is strongly preferred.

  • Experience with legal compositions under chemical regulatory frameworks such as REACH, TSCA and others is desired.

Your Skills:

  • Detail oriented and Critical thinking - Ensure accuracy, data integrity and consistence of composition data while enabling objective analysis, detect gaps or inconsistences, sound interpretation, and defensible decisions when addressing complex problems and uncertainty following work processes and job aids.

  • Microsoft Excel - Used as one of the main tools to analyze and review composition data

  • SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) - Used as a system of record to create, update and maintain legal and standard compositions, execute composition related workflows.

  • Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) - Ensure alignment between SAP composition data and hazard communication requirements.

  • Polymer Chemistry - It will be applied to understand polymer structure, monomer reactants, residuals, impurities, enabling accurate determination of standard and legal compositions.

  • Chemical reactions - Used to assess how reactions, adjustments or processing steps define final standard and legal compositions, or troubleshooting atypical formulation scenarios.

  • Regulatory compliance - Ensure composition meet global regulatory requirements.
