DESCRIPTION:
You'll be part of our EHS team at Thermo Fisher Scientific where you'll maintain workplace safety and environmental compliance. As a Lead EHS Technician, you'll collaborate closely with the Site EHS Manager to implement and oversee safety programs, conduct facility inspections, and support a culture of workplace safety. You'll coordinate emergency response initiatives, manage hazardous materials, and contribute to continuous improvement in our EHS systems. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on workplace safety while supporting our mission of enabling our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 1 year of relevant EHS experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment
1. Work with the EHS Manager to implement and promotion Safety awareness and Safety campaigns.
2. Conduct safety inspections daily at the plant and risk areas, identify risks, closing findings and prevent accidents.
3. Is part of the Safety committee for accidents investigation.
4. Is a Safety trainer for all new employees and regular employees according with the Safety Training Plan.
5. Works with Manager and leaders conducting JSA by area.
6. Is part of Safety Committee and Emergency Team.
7. Hazardous Waste administration from different areas.
8. Identify and control of hazardous chemicals.
9. Participates in EHS internal audits and SOP compliance.
10. Evaluate safety permits to internal employees and contractors.
11. Evaluate risk activities for contractors.
12. Implement EHS Projects
13. Support CTPAT Activities
14. Administrate EHS System
15. Gives strong support to the EHS rules follow up of contractors working on the company, specially during special projects. Have knowledge about risks and its controls during transfer of operations
16. Other tasks and duties must be assigned, as required.
