We have an opportunity for a motivated, self-directed Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) Specialist to support the Atlanta Service Center.

As an EHS Specialist, you’ll work in a fast-paced environment and will foster employee engagement and drive risk reduction and continuous improvement of the EH&S program. This is a unique opportunity that will give you the chance to see our products as they are produced in the factory and then in use at customer locations.   

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Recognizing, evaluating and controlling hazardous workplace conditions. 

  • Taking proactive steps to ensure the safety and health of site employees and influence safe behaviors. 

  • Partnering with site POCs and EH&S subject matter experts to assure compliance including appropriate documentation to prove alignment with federal, state, local and company EH&S requirements. 

  • Executing initiatives, programs, reports and training across multiple EH&S disciplines, as required to achieve and maintain compliance. 

  • Investigating, analyzing and interpreting data from injuries and near-misses, and ensuring corrective actions are completed on time. 

  • Interacting with employees of all levels, promoting relationships, learning the tasks employees perform and becoming known as a resource to the employees at the sites within your region.

  • Contributing to the development and implementation of EH&S strategic initiatives that drive continuous improvement. 

  • Identifying environmental risk and supporting the sites’ environmental compliance programs, including hazardous waste management, stormwater and ground-water protection plans, air quality permitting, wastewater and toxic chemical reporting. 

  • Developing and implementing sustainability practices and programs related to waste, water, and greenhouse gases in alignment with our long-term goals. 

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Typically requires Bachelors Degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or related field and minimum 5 years of experience in Environmental, Health & Safety, Risk, or related field; or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.

  • Prior EH&S experience.

QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER:

  • DOT Training

  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)

  • Certification or experience managing Ergonomic risk reduction.

  • Experience leading multi-functional teams and projects with a background that includes working with CORE, Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma or related Continuous Improvement tools with a proven track record of cost savings and continuous improvement accomplishments.

  • Experience providing dynamic problem solving with the ability to craft solutions to everyday challenges with creative new ideas.

  • Expert in risk assessment and reduction.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
