As an EHS and Compliance Manager, this individual will lead the lead the environmental, health, and safety organization on site through the development, implementation, and maintenance of effective management systems.
Provide technical advice and assistance to Site Engineering and EHS Director, Site Leadership Team, managers, and staff to enable EHS performance to be managed effectively, contributing towards achieving the Manufacturing site vision.
Encourage, promote, and monitor the highest levels of EHS performance in line with regulatory and corporate requirements.
The EHS and Compliance primary goal is to protect all employees at the site by ensuring that risks to employees are minimized by implementing strategies and solutions to minimize exposure to harmful elements and conditions. In addition, the site is following all federal, state, and local regulations including all Haleon related standards. These regulations apply to air, water, soil, waste, and sustainability requirements as they pertain to the site and associated properties. 
 
Key responsibilities:
  • Monitor and report EHS performance, share lessons and best practices across the site and regional supply chain.
  • Set site EHS objectives aligned with corporate priorities.
  • Investigate accidents and high-potential incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions—considering human factors and reliability.
  • Apply risk management methods to close audit gaps and reduce EHS risks.
  • Drive a strong safety culture, promoting and rewarding safe behaviors.
  • Ensure compliance with Haleon Policies, Standards, and Internal Control Framework through a site-specific EHS management system.
  • Manage EHS department budget and oversee crisis management and business continuity plans.
  • Reduce environmental impact through integrated environmental management.
  • Collaborate with functions (Quality, Engineering, HR, Procurement, etc.) to embed EHS into site strategy and risk mapping.
  • Build relationships with EHS professionals across sites for best practice sharing and staff development.
  • Ensure sufficient qualified EHS staff and support succession planning.
  • Promote transparency in compliance, audits, and incidents.
  • Communicate and influence stakeholders effectively, making ethical decisions aligned with Haleon values.
  • Lead and develop EHS team members.

Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Sciences, and/or Occupational Safety, with further specialist qualifications to at least Diploma level & preferably to a Master level.
  • Membership of a relevant and internationally recognized professional organisation (e.g. ASSP, AIHA, AIHA).
  • Experience in managing EHS risks in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), Pharmaceutical or related high-hazard sector.
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
  • Other related engineering certifications
  • This position requires extensive knowledge of EHS requirements and regulations. Hence any formal education around these requirements is preferred.
  • At least 6 years’ experience in the EHS Field.
  • Knowledge in the use of EHS tracking databases.
  • Good relationship building and networking, to engage effectively with site personnel, senior management, EHS and Regional leads.
