Job Summary: The Resuscitation Education Initiative (REdI) is a national VA program to standardize training, documentation, tracking and monitoring the provision of Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support Training throughout VHA. Under the guidance and supervision of the REdI program Director, the selectee will perform a variety of administrative support services for the coordination, development, and administration of the national REdI program.

Major Duties:

  • The duties include but are not limited to: Coordinates the daily operations of the REdI training program. Acts as liaison between training program instructors and training specialists from other services to solicit support, obtain information, and facilitate schedules and other program activities. Assists in maintenance of current REdI training center status including compiling and maintaining all records and other documentation for course monitoring, class audits, instructor audits, waivers (initial and renewals), and site reviews in compliance with REdI guidelines. Assists with all correspondence and site visits with the REdI VISN and national representatives. Gathers and tracks information, analyzes pertinent data, and provide reports to the Director in a timely manner. Schedule appointments, coordinates meetings, and/or schedules conferences related to the conduction of classes or REdI program needs. Performs clerical or technical level work to procure supplies, equipment, and services following the REdI guidelines. Support/assist in role playing applications, props placement, and Moulage set-up to create a virtual healthcare setting. Participates in developing, organizing educational courses or events that use clinical simulation technologies, and conducting education on the technology associated with simulation; I.e. usage of computer systems and adjunct equipment. Performs other related duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm. Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Qualifications: To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 05/15/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06 level. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, abilities (KSA) would typically include, but are not limited to: VA regulations, directives, and HCS policies and procedures as they pertain to Resuscitation Education and Innovation (REdI). AHA program administration and guidelines. ACLS/BLS instruction materials, and equipment. Solve problems; work independently, and in team environment. Handle, interpret, and analyze data to make appropriate decisions and recommendations related to the REdI program. Computer systems such as Microsoft office applications, spreadsheets, and TMS web/database queries. Oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with staff at all levels of the organization and with outside entities. Preferred Experience: One (1) Year of TMS administrative experience, Familiar with TMS accounts assignment management. Experience with the VA RQI Project Implementation Manager and SimLEARN team to facilitate smooth rollouts and transition. Experience with project coordination or technical implementation especially in healthcare or simulation training Selective Placement Factor. Familiar with the Resuscitation Quality Improvement Program Initiative. Experience with set up and maintain simulation equipment (e.g., voice assisted mannequins, digital stations) for hands-on quarterly skill sessions. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
