Most Education Sales roles trap you in a cycle of responding to RFPs, managing a stale list of accounts, and fighting internal bureaucracy just to get a discount approved. You end up being a "caretaker" of a territory rather than its builder.
This role is different. We are looking for a Business Owner in Education for the Central Territory.
At Airtame, we don't believe in counting keystrokes or micromanaging your day. We believe in handing you the keys to a massive market opportunity and trusting you to execute your strategy. You aren’t just "covering" a patch of land; you are the architect of our growth in K-12 and Higher Ed across the region.
As a Danish company, we prioritize collaboration and autonomy over hierarchy. In Education sales, success is built on long-term, authentic relationships, not transactional pressure. You will thrive here if you value building genuine rapport—from Tech Directors to Superintendents—knowing that we support your decisions without looking over your shoulder.
Airtame is a platform for shared screens in education environments. It lets teachers and staff untether from the front of the room and wirelessly present to any display, join hybrid meetings in admin spaces, and show school wide announcements — from any device and operating system. IT teams manage everything via Airtame Cloud, and the platform works with both Airtame and Airtame-enabled third-party hardware. Founded in Denmark in 2013, Airtame is built for real-world environments with mixed tech, and is used in thousands of schools and workplaces globally.
The Outcomes (Year 1 Success)
Here is what success looks like in your first 12 months:
- Grow Revenue YoY: You have exceeded your annual quota by securing net new business and expanding our footprint within existing K-12 and Higher-Ed accounts.
- Unlock New Partners: You haven't just waited for leads. You have opened doors in new districts and universities using creative outreach and strategic persistence.
- Deepen Strategic Accounts: You have moved us from "just a device in a classroom" to a district-wide standard. You have driven upsells and cross-sells by leveraging product workshops and professional development days.
- Amplify Regional Presence: You have positioned Airtame as the preferred screen solution in the territory by representing us at regional events and executing territory-specific campaigns.
Who You Are (Requirements)
- The Education Strategist: You have a proven track record in K-12 and/or Higher-Ed sales. You understand the buying cycles, the funding sources, and the stakeholders.
- The Co-Selling Expert: You don't sell against the channel; you sell with them. You know how to bring a partner (like CDW or a regional specialist) into a deal to unlock greater value for customers.
- Structure & Discipline: Since you won't be micromanaged, you are self-driven. You treat your Salesforce data with hygiene and your forecast as a commitment to your team.
- The Proactive Solver: You are energized by identifying a new opportunity and navigating the decision process from the first conversation to the closed deal.
- Practicalities
- Travel ~25% of the year to meet partners, attend industry events, and to quarterly team meetings.
- Location: Central US (Flexible within the region) → TX, IL or MN is preferred
