Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.
POSITION SUMMARY:
World Relief Upstate SC is seeking a dynamic Economic Empowerment Intern to guide refugees and other immigrants on their path toward economic self-sufficiency. This internship provides hands-on experience in workforce development and refugee resettlement services. The intern will support the program specialists in delivering holistic core services in employment including job readiness activities, case management, employment preparation, and career pathways coaching. Under supervision, the intern will assist clients with job search processes, workplace readiness, and access to community resources that support job retention and advancement. The intern will also help coordinate and support workshops, trainings, and informational sessions that prepare clients to navigate the U.S. workforce and adapt to their new community. Additional responsibilities may include preparing materials, tracking participation, assisting with program logistics, and supporting employer engagement activities. Through these contributions, the intern will help advance pathways to sustainable employment while gaining valuable experience in nonprofit program operations.
This position is 35 hours per week.
