About This Opportunity

Are you passionate about fighting economic crime and making a real difference to our customers? Join our expert team and help protect the integrity of the UK’s financial system.

We’re seeking an experienced Economic Crime Investigator to be at the heart of our Business & Commercial Banking Economic Crime Prevention team, undertaking intelligence and data led investigations. You’ll analyse complex data, gather intelligence from a range of sources, and make key decisions that help safeguard our customers and the bank. You’ll produce clear, evidence-based reports of your findings, supported by relevant evidence, including your recommendations and rationale for next steps, ensuring we meet our regulatory obligations and stay ahead of evolving financial crime threats.

You’ll play a pivotal role in safeguarding the bank and its customers, leading complex investigations, mitigating financial crime risks, and ensuring compliance with our Economic Crime Prevention strategy. Your work will directly support our commitment to help Britain prosper.

This is a dynamic role where no two days are the same, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about putting customers first!

What you’ll be doing

  • Intelligence Led Investigations: Lead investigations using internal and external data sources, applying advanced investigative tools and techniques to uncover financial crime risks.

  • Data Analysis & Risk Assessment: Analyse complex datasets to identify suspicious patterns and trends, making informed decisions on customer relationships based on risk.

  • Reporting & Recommendations: Communicate clear findings and actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders, influencing strategic decisions.

  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Work closely with colleagues, stakeholders and industry partners to enhance processes, share insights, and stay ahead of emerging threats.

  • Compliance & Strategy Alignment: Ensure all actions support the bank’s Economic Crime Prevention strategy and regulatory obligations, contributing to our commitment to help Britain prosper.
