General Summary:
The ECG Technician Lead performs responsibilities of a Senior ECG Technician while acting as a leader and resource for other ECG Technicians at Lurie and outreach locations. Ensures quality standards are met and promotes continuous quality improvement. Maintains currently knowledge of technology and equipment. Educates and evaluates staff to department policies and procedures. Ensures appropriate staff scheduling. Maintains inventory and orders supplies within budgetary guidelines. Coordinates student clinical rotations and training of ECG Technicians.
Essential Job Functions:
Serves as a resource person and role model for staff and cardiologists.
Performs job duties of a Senior ECG technician as needed.
Responsible for assuring equipment is functional. Primary liaison with HTM.
Facilitates team development and growth in coordination with other teams in the department.
Participates in the management of people resources, including staff scheduling, interviewing, selection, orientation, competency, education and evaluation. Coordinates staff education and meetings.
Coaches team members to demonstrate a positive attitude and a friendly environment.
Ensures quality control procedures are performed and compliant.
Develops and implements ECG procedures and processes in accordance with department standards, regulatory agencies and certifying organizations.
Ensures all technical results are processed in a timely manner to ensure maximum reimbursement.
Assures billing is timely and accurate.
Assigns monthly and weekly duties to technicians and maintains all documentation as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor of Science degree preferred, but not required.
CCT certification required.
Must have worked in the capacity of a Senior ECG Technician with 3-5 years of ECG experience.
Excellent communication/listening skills, bilingual (Spanish) helpful.
Ability to make quick, accurate decisions on a daily basis and handle stressful situations.
Demonstrates basic computer skills with Windows operations.
Ability to maneuver an ECG machine throughout the hospital. Ability to travel to outreach locations as needed.
Basic life support certification required.

$21.00-$32.55 HourlyAt Lurie Children’s, we are committed to competitive and fair compensation aligned with market rates and internal equity, reflecting individual contributions, experience, and expertise.
