JOB DESCRIPTION:

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Abbott Medical Devices is seeking a Director of Business Human Resources to serve as the primary strategic partner to the business, developing HR strategies, needs assessments and the resulting HR solutions.  This role will support the Abbott CRM (Cardiac Rhythm Management) Division which is a $2.9B global business and includes Sales and Marketing, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Clinical, Regulatory, and Medical Affairs functions.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In partnership with the division president and business leaders, develop and implement a talent plan that ensures the organization has the right talent to deliver on financial commitments, consistent team performance and a sustainable talent bench for business growth over several years.

  • Develop the breadth and depth of business model, competitive landscape and division strategies understanding to assess talent implications and align human resources initiatives and resources accordingly.

  • Bring thought leadership and experience to change management initiatives in the business.

  • Responsible for the quality and responsiveness of the overall delivery of all HR services for the respective business

  • Ensure HR policies and regulations compliance in the respective client group.

  • Ensure external businesses and talent trends are being reviewed/benchmarked to develop best practices for the future. 

  • Serve as a thought leader for larger HR organization to stimulate and drive innovative initiatives and programs to support the business short and long-range plans.

  • Establishes, builds and maintains strong relationships with key HR partners from Area BHR, Practice Areas and Service Centers to ensure elements of HR are successfully coordinated to meet and exceed business needs.

  • Provides strategic BHR support for all functional areas of the business and is responsible for Division Executive Talent Management Review (ETMR) project management, including Metrics, Analytics, and Business Integration activities related to mergers and acquisitions, as appropriate.

  • Responsible for the development and leadership of HR staff.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10 years of experience leading HR initiatives and programs.

  • 5 years of experience with talent management, employee relations and compensation/benefits programs

  • Experience supporting medical devices/diagnostics organizations preferred

  • Experience working in a matrix HR environment

  • Experience with organization culture change initiatives

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate with management to achieve both HR and business objectives.

  • Understanding of key business and financial drivers and demonstrated strong delivery of HR results.

  • Relocation flexibility preferred

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree preferred.

The base pay for this position is

$247,300.00 – $494,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
