Language Owners are central to how Headout delivers a world-class localized experience. As the owner of your language market, you shape how users interact with our product, marketing, and communication touchpoints across all platforms, including the Headout website, app, microbrands, and performance channels.

This role combines linguistic excellence, content strategy, and market growth. You ensure that all localized content is culturally relevant, accurate, and tailored to enhance user experience. From refining style guides and glossaries, to optimizing SEO and ASO performance, your expertise directly influences how your market discovers, engages with, and returns to Headout.

🤩 What makes this role special?

You will work within the Localization Team and collaborate closely with product, design, and marketing teams to optimize content and track performance metrics. As a Language Owner, you blend creativity, QA rigor, and data-driven decision-making to drive both quality and growth for your language.

  1. Own the full localized experience in your language across all platforms and marketing channels. You will ensure linguistic quality, cultural relevance, and consistency by defining and maintaining style guides, terminology, tone, and linguistic standards.
  2. Leverage AI and automation tools to refine MT output, improve style consistency, detect recurrent quality issues, and optimize language workflows.
  3. Conduct linguistic QA and audits (including MT post-editing, content assessments, and in-app LocQA) while identifying root causes of quality problems and proposing improvements.
  4. Drive SEO and ASO performance through keyword research, metadata optimization, and localized content enhancements to improve visibility and organic growth.
  5. Create, adapt, and optimize localized marketing and UX copy, running A/B tests and using effective workflows to increase engagement and conversions.
  6. Track language KPIs and performance metrics using analytics tools (e.g., Looker) to identify opportunities, guide priorities, and refine the language strategy.
  7. Co-manage and mentor freelancers, providing guidance, feedback, and training to maintain consistency, improve output quality, and scale best practices.
  8. Represent your language in cross-functional collaboration, partnering with Content, Product, Performance Marketing, and other teams to align priorities, and ensure language needs and UX considerations are incorporated into planning and execution.

🎯 Who are we looking for?

  • Dutch native speaker with excellent English communication skills.
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing translation, localization, or copywriting.
  • Solid SEO knowledge, preferably with experience in keyword research and performance monitoring.
  • Experience working with TMS like XTM, CMS, and localization workflows.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience interpreting content performance metrics (preferably using Looker or similar tools).
  • Proven ability to drive market growth by optimizing language assets and improving workflows.
  • Strong communication and project-management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional processes.
