Job Description:

Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for a Durable Medical Equipment Technician at our Maryland Department of Aging Durable Medical Refurbishment Center in Cheltenham, MD. This position plans, coordinates and directs the evaluation, sanitation, and repair of durable medical equipment (DME) collected from donation centers throughout Maryland.

Estimated Pay Range:

$50,233.92 - $69,070.98

Minimum Requirements:

Graduation from a standard high school or possession of GED equivalency certificate and a minimum of five years’ experience performing installation, repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment, medical equipment, facilities maintenance, or other related work.

Formal schooling from an accredited vocational school with a major in a related field may be substituted for experience. Education experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to three years of the required experience. Specific experience and training in the repair of DME will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points.

The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse inventory control, organization, and maintenance; forklift certification is preferred, along with the ability to serve as a back-up driver for a 16’ box truck (CDL a plus), and knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) or Home Medical Equipment (HME) is also preferred.

Any offer of employment will be contingent upon successfully completing required pre-employment screens, to include full background check, drug & alcohol screening, and position appropriate physical.
