Manager DTS Levante, South of Spain & Portugal

Purpose of the role

Reporting to the DTS Manager, the Head of Direct Transport Sales is responsible for a wide range of customer profiles ensuring the accomplishment of the corresponding sales targets; this will encompass driving short term utilization across DTS products. The leader will use sales expertise to optimise team results across their corresponding geography. Responsibility also includes the digitalization of the Sales Channel, where appropriate.

Key responsibilities 

Delivery as per Area budget

  • Lead and set direction for the sales team according to budget – both on delivering ocean & L&S volume, growing revenue and optimising profits
  • Coach and drive sales team to sell and grow all products
  • Define and set targets for sales incentives together with Sales FBP

Define and deliver changes to business targets based on market/asset view

  • Activate the Capacity and Campaign function to formalize the commercial plans

Customer satisfaction

  • Actively monitor local NPS across segments and drive local initiatives to improve customer satisfaction for all local Accounts

Manage stakeholders across the area, region and global functions

  • Actively provide feedback to the product teams based on customer feedback and insights
  • Feed business development managers with relevant leads

Build and develop a best-in-class sales team

  • Ensure succession plans are in place for key roles including own role
  • Coach direct reports for success and development
  • Manage local and global engagement

Your profile 

Regional & Segment Expertise (Levante, Spain & Portugal)
Deep understanding of the transport and logistics market across Levante, Spain, and Portugal, including customer segments, trade lanes, competitive dynamics, and local market nuances. Ability to translate regional insights into winning commercial strategies that drive sustainable growth.

Strategic & Commercial Mindset
Strong strategic thinking capability, able to align local execution with Maersk’s broader commercial and transformation strategies. Skilled in prioritizing initiatives, balancing short-term performance with long-term value creation, and making data-driven decisions in a complex environment.

Sales Leadership & People Management
Proven leadership experience managing and developing a sales organization of approximately 10–15 professionals. Ability to inspire, engage, and performance-manage teams through clear direction, coaching, and accountability, while fostering a high-performance and inclusive sales culture.

Customer-Centric Commercial Excellence
Advanced commercial skills with a strong customer orientation. Expertise in negotiations, value-based selling, and solution design, always representing Maersk’s end-to-end value proposition. Demonstrated ability to solve customer challenges from a Maersk perspective, balancing customer needs with profitability and network optimization.

Team Development & Talent Growth
Passion for building best-in-class sales teams through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and continuous capability development. Commitment to developing future leaders and ensuring long-term organizational strength.

Sales Execution & CRM Excellence (Salesforce)
Hands-on experience leveraging Salesforce to drive pipeline management, forecasting accuracy, performance tracking, and sales productivity. Comfortable using data and insights to guide sales execution and leadership decisions.

Sales & Account Management Experience
Solid background in either leading sales teams or directly managing key customer portfolios within the segment. Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels, engaging with senior customer stakeholders while supporting team execution.

Ocean & Integrated Product Expertise
Strong experience in Ocean freight and associated products, with an understanding of integrated logistics solutions. Ability to position and sell end-to-end offerings, working closely with internal stakeholders to deliver holistic customer solutions.
