What Transportation contributes to Cardinal Health

Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.

Transportation is responsible for the movement of materials and products between suppliers, manufacturing, warehousing and the customer. Management of transportation assets and systems to gain greater service, cost efficiency and optimization of processes.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience, preferred
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Active Puerto Rico Driver License is required

What is expected of you and others at this level

  • Applies acquired knowledge and skills to complete standard tasks
  • Readily learns and applies new information and methods to work in assigned area
  • Maintains appropriate licenses, training, certifications and willing to participate in internal/external audits
  • Willingness to obtain a Heavy License and NTSP License upon hire.
  • Works on routine assignments that require some problem resolution
  • Willing to work in administrative task (Manifest Scanning, Record Retention, etc)
  • Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods
  • Adheres to all quality guidelines
  • Works under moderate degree of supervision
  • Work typically involves regular review of output by work lead or supervisor
  • Refers complex unusual problems to supervisor
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to use computers and GPS Systems (Waze, Google Maps, etc)
  • Comfortable driving in all weather conditions during day or night hours
  • Ability to sit, stand, be mobile and operate a vehicle for extended periods of time
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Maintain vehicles in proper working condition, proper cleanliness, minor maintenance tasks
  • Ability to lift shipments weighing up to 50 pounds
