Job Overview
This DC Leader is responsible for leading operational activities on the shift in which they are responsible for as per instructed by the Operations Leader, The role will be responsible for driving and exceeding key KPI targets, analyse and improve processes and equipment, develop and maintain discipline for the team members and deliver continuous improvement.
This includes compliance to HS&E procedures, adherence to standard operating procedures, and planning of activities to meet the DC operational demands and targets.
Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Duties
- Ownership of operational activities and accountabilities for assigned shift
- Performance monitoring of direct reports and general performance of the shift
- Forward plan and direct team aligned to operational plans to meet the shifts productivity targets.
- Communicate with Senior Leaders, to ensure activities are maximizing productivity
- Promote, educate, maintain and where necessary improve standards of H&S, 5S housekeeping and organisation of the complete area of responsibility.
Identify potential process improvement and where appropriate lead project/s for implementation.
- Provide support to team in resolving problems and issues related to standard operating procedures.
- Lead, develop and motivate team to ensure they are capable of delivering targets and goals
- Effectively manage the performance of the team to ensure that talent is developed and poor performance is addressed accordingly.
- Effective communication to all associated stakeholders, to adopt a ‘closed loop’ feedback culture for all projects or queries.
- Develop team on shift to the capability of being able to backfill the leader when required.
