What is the opportunity?
The Divisional Insurance and Annuity VP plays a critical role in driving growth of insured solutions through advisor engagement within the context of financial planning. This individual will partner closely with the Client Strategies team, Insurance & Annuity Product Specialists, and approved General Agency Point of Sale individuals to support RBC’s Financial Advisors. In particular, the focus of this role is to increase support of the Private Client Group High/Ultra High Net Worth insured solutions business. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding and application of life insurance, long-term care, and disability insurance products.
What will you do?
Assist Financial Advisors in identifying planning and insured solutions opportunities within an advisors book of business
Create, uncover, and identify sales opportunities through proactive and regular review of financial plans, with communication to Financial Advisors and clients.
Support Financial Advisors, their clients and RBC field consultants through education/application of insured solution strategies which include life insurance, long-term care, and disability and annuity products. Work with advisors to develop an understanding of insurance planning concepts, client delivery and conducting the business appropriately.
Lead and coordinate sales and marketing efforts within the Division, promote external partnerships between Client Strategies Team and General Agents.
Provide assistance and education to Financial Advisors utilizing Wealth Management resources including financial planning tools and opportunity reports.
Establish strong relationships with Complex Directors and Branch Directors to drive engagement and adoption of protection solutions as part of wealth planning.
Develop and deliver materials to aid FAs in client communications and insurance recommendations.
Possess understanding of WM Consulting products and services, and ability to communicate effectively cross departmentally.
Assist Financial Advisors and General Agents in the selection of product, program or service and answer general questions regarding WM Consulting areas.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years proven experience in the financial services and insurance industries
Demonstrated understanding of estate and business planning strategies, concepts and application
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate working with a varied and demanding retail sales-force in a fast-paced environment.
A high degree of professionalism in interactions with clients/partners and the ability to work as a team to always do what’s best for our clients
Series 7, 63/65 or 66
Nice-to-have
Willingness to work on appropriate industry designations (CFP/CHFC/CLU)

The expected salary range for this particular position is $90,000-$160,000 , depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.
You have the potential to earn more through RBC’s discretionary variable compensation program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
