MUFG is seeking an experienced Vice President, Global Corporate Banking (Financial Institutions) to join their established Global Corporate Banking team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This role offers you the chance to take on a pivotal position managing a diverse portfolio of financial institutions, including banks, non-bank financial entities, and public sector clients. You will be at the forefront of client relationship management, deal origination, and execution, working closely with internal stakeholders to deliver tailored solutions that meet client needs while ensuring robust credit risk oversight. What you’ll do:

As a Vice President, Global Corporate Banking (Financial Institutions) in this esteemed institution, you will play a central role in nurturing long-term partnerships with key financial institutions. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve orchestrating complex deal structures alongside internal experts from various departments while ensuring every aspect of client engagement is meticulously managed. You will be instrumental in driving business development efforts through strategic account planning and proactive cross-selling initiatives. By maintaining rigorous oversight of credit processes and compliance standards, you will help safeguard the bank’s interests while delivering value-added solutions that address evolving client needs. Your ability to foster strong interdepartmental collaboration will be crucial in ensuring seamless execution of transactions and superior customer experiences.   • Lead client coverage as Global Relationship Manager for a portfolio of banks, non-bank financial institutions, and public sector organisations, overseeing all aspects of relationship management.

  • Originate and execute transactions in close coordination with credit, approval, and client service teams, balancing risk management with client requirements.

  • Drive cross-sell opportunities with Transaction Banking, Global Markets, Capital Markets, and sector teams to deliver integrated client solutions.

  • Oversee annual account planning, developing strategic relationship plans to generate new business through targeted marketing and client engagement.

  • Ensure timely preparation and approval of credit proposals and deal materials, managing the full credit lifecycle to maintain efficient turnaround times.

  • Lead client meetings by preparing clear marketing materials that assess risk-return impacts at both deal and relationship levels.

  • Liaise with Product Office, Credit Administration, Operations, and regional and head office teams to ensure smooth execution and service delivery.

  • Provide strong client support, including account openings and new facilities, ensuring accurate and complete documentation.

  • Ensure all activities comply with internal policies, sales processes, and regulatory requirements, supporting audit readiness.

  • Monitor account plans to achieve targeted product penetration while managing client communications effectively.

  • A recognised degree in Finance, Accountancy, Banking, or a related discipline from a reputable institution.

  • A positive, proactive mindset with genuine interest in financial markets and the banking sector.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for reporting, analysis, and presentations.

  • High attention to detail and strong analytical capability to manage complex transactions and assess risks.

  • Proven ability to multitask, work under pressure, and contribute as a collaborative team player.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work seamlessly with teams across Credit, Operations, and Head Office functions.
