Distributed Systems Engineering Advisor
Responsibilities:
- Technically coordinate requirements for critical initiatives, such as special projects or critical incidents, by collaborating with OS, Database, Storage, VMWare, Middleware, Cloud, and other infrastructure solution teams.
- Act as a technical reference, ensuring proper execution of deliverables and achievement of project objectives.
- Work on complex technical solutions, ensuring they meet requirements for scalability, security, reliability, and performance.
- Provide expert guidance in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of high-impact incidents across distributed environments.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for automation, optimization, and adoption of best practices in distributed systems.
- Apply ITIL methodologies, especially in incident, problem, and change management, ensuring operational continuity and continuous improvement.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders, maintaining effective and transparent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure customer experience and satisfaction, especially during production rollout and post-implementation phases.
- Collaborate with teams distributed across LATAM, EMEA, and the USA, adapting to multicultural and remote work environments.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends in distributed systems, cloud computing, and infrastructure engineering.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a technical advisor in technology innovation, distributed systems, or critical initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems, databases, storage, virtualization (VMWare), middleware, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), and distributed architectures.
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues in large-scale, mission-critical environments.
- Certification or practical experience in ITIL methodologies (incident, problem, and change management).
- Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Customer-oriented mindset and focus on service quality.
- Experience working with international and multicultural teams.
- Advanced English level (spoken and written).
Desirable:
- Technical certifications (ITIL, PMP, cloud platforms, specific technologies).
- Experience in migrations, automation, and cloud projects.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with monitoring, observability, and incident response tools (e.g., Splunk, Prometheus, Moogsoft).
- Basic Portuguese language skills.
