Salary Range: $194672 - $209600 Per Year

Job Summary: You will serve as a Distinguished Engineer/Scientist, Senior Scientific Technical Manager for Combat System Architectures of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD).

Major Duties:

  • You will execute technical activities regarding the research, engineering and development of robust surface ship combat systems and element system solutions.
  • You will define standards and processes for tools and capabilities available to support combat system architecture development.
  • You will design, develop, and demonstrate supportable and extensible combat system architectures and integrated fire control solutions for naval forces to fight effectively across extended battlespace with optimal coordination among fighting units.
  • You will develop the Naval Combat System Architecture workforce, including subject matter experts in areas of naval combat systems, system architecture, systems engineers, software design and development, and hardware development and prototyping.
  • You will instantiate and lead the use of modern digital engineering tools and system engineering concepts.

Expert knowledge in systems engineering, software development, DevSecOps, computing infrastructure, virtualization, and service-oriented architectures with demonstrated experience in developing, prototyping, and integrating complex combat systems. TQ 2. Expert knowledge of Naval Combat Systems and warfare tactics, including kill chain elements, countermeasures, and weapon system concepts and design, with demonstrated ability to perform trade studies to inform system requirements and integration decisions.
