Location: Jacksonville, North Carolina – Camp Lejeune

Type: Non-Exempt, Temporary

Work Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift 

Compensation: $24.86 - $24.86 per hour

Tessera is seeking an organized and efficient Dispatcher with a positive attitude.

  • Assign vehicles to drivers to provide transportation for approved government business while ensuring the efficient and effective use of vehicles and drivers.  Ensure drivers are properly licensed.

  • Maintain a system of gathering information to update fleet inventory and service records by ensuring that outgoing odometer mileage, destination, and estimated time of return, as well as return odometer mileage, return time, information from vehicle users, and other observable necessary maintenance and repair work are recorded.

  • Monitor the actual release and return of fleet vehicles to ascertain the current location and user of each vehicle by establishing and/or maintaining a standard system of recording the release of the vehicle to and the return of the vehicle from the user.

  • Schedule servicing of fleet vehicles, including lubrication, oil and filter changes, body and engine repair, tires, necessary warranty work, and cleaning of vehicles to ensure efficient and sound operating condition.

  • Issue keys and Fleet card with vehicle.

  • Maintain records in Fleet Focus.

  • Inspect vehicles for Cleanliness and Operational Serviceability prior to and upon return from dispatch. Ensure all discrepancies are noted on the inspection form.

  • Must have a basic understanding of the Marine Corps unit structure.

Qualifications: 

  • Three years of transportation or dispatch experience preferred.

  • Must have excellent spatial and reasoning skills.

  • Must know city and out-of-city roads.

  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and preferably Fleet Focus.

  • CDL Class A or B preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis. 

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.

  • Candidate must meet federal guidelines to be considered for this position - Department of Transportation (DOT) pre-employment drug screening, medical examination certification, and cleared query with the FMCSA Clearinghouse is required
