As a Director, US Retail Portfolio Strategy & Execution, you will have an opportunity to develop retail-specific, customer-centered strategies and resources to support the growth of Pfizer’s Primary Care Portfolio, including vaccines, antivirals, and migraine. The individual in this role will develop a breadth of marketing experience across several areas including pharmacists/HCPs, consumers, and B2B, as well as operational experience in the development and deployment of resources for use by Retail account teams.

Reporting to the Retail Marketing Team Lead, this role will focus on identifying unmet needs and developing educational resources for use within the Retail Channel, to help improve patient outcomes.  Given the criticality of the Retail Channel and Primary Care business, this role is responsible for leading the pull-through of innovative marketing strategy across our treatment brands. This role is responsible for strategic planning, providing marketing insights, and deploying against key retail marketing strategies & tactics. It will require strong collaboration across US brand teams, pharmacy account teams, and retail customers, to ensure all educational initiatives, in-store programs and media are coordinated among the brand teams with a customer-centric view, and portfolio opportunities are fully leveraged.

This colleague will also work with treatment brands for execution of multiple strategic initiatives and priority projects in collaboration with stakeholders across Primary Care business and external marketing vendors/agencies. This role will need to successfully work cross-functionally, diagonally/up, and manage a team of external resources supporting the marketing business. Given the dynamic marketplace, this colleague will need to stay agile based on business priorities, self-starter/proactive, possess executive presence, and translate complex concepts into streamlined insights.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works closely with US Retail Pharmacy Portfolio Directors, advertising agencies, and cross-functional stakeholders to support the development and implementation of retail-specific strategies and tactics across Pfizer’s Primary Care portfolio of brands
  • Leads development of Personal and Non-Personal/Digital assets to pull-through branded and unbranded campaigns and messaging - including identifying gaps, directing agencies, and gaining approval for resources that align with both brand and retail-specific strategies
  • Develops and deploys communications to Customer Facing Colleagues and Retail Pharmacy customers, to support the tactical execution of developed assets and campaigns
  • Lead the development and tactical execution of retail channel-specific portfolio resources and pull-through programs that align with cohesive brand strategy, supported by timely and robust metrics to optimize execution and achieve goals
  • Collaborate with cross-channel brand teams and Retail brand marketers to identify opportunities for synergies and ensure positioning, strategy, and messaging are consistent across the brand and channel
  • Provide Marketing leadership and strong collaboration with the Retail CFCs to ensure strategic and tactical alignment, as well as incorporate Retail Pharmacy Team (RPT) insights into marketing programs and tactics (as appropriate)
  • Champion the development and implementation of annual operating and tactical plans that drive the short- and long-term retail strategy
  • Work with Retail Account Management and Trade Account Director Lead, as well as Retail Brand Marketers to prioritize strategy and activation plan for Retail CFC organizations
  • Translate behavioral insights into compelling retail strategies that strengthen Pharmacist conviction and consumer education around Brand disease focus
  • Identify and understand complex drivers of pharmacist and consumer behavior across multiple dimensions, including brand awareness, disease perception, and recommendation dynamics
  • Initiate the development of retail channel resources and pull-through programs aligned to a cohesive brand strategy
  • Champion pull-through of all major goals and culture initiatives
  • Continue the innovative and agile spirit of the team
  • Actively participate in fostering positive team culture and collaboration across the team
  • Participates in external customer meetings
  • Maintains a promotional calendar in partnership withbrand leads across the Retail segment
  • Helps develop summary briefs to initiate new projects via Workfront/GCMA
  • Leads or supports congress planning for retail and the execution booth and tactics
  • Supports Field Force engagement, resource deployment and POA efforts as needed
  • Collaborates with cross-functional team members to optimize each programs’ messaging and drives cohesion across all brand tactics and touchpoints

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA or BS required, MBA or advanced degree in a related field preferred
  • A minimum 8 years of experience in commercial/marketing experience is required including US pharma experience
  • Recent Retail marketing experience or Retail field accounts management experience preferred
  • Strong familiarity with US retail pharmacy market landscape with experience in identifying unmet needs for pharmacists as well as consumers/patients using pharmacy services
  • Good understanding of retail pharmacy workflow, as well as pharmacist and pharmacy technician education/training-specific needs and processes
  • Experience in developing initiatives to effectively engage and educate retail pharmacy patients/consumers in disease areas of focus that support activation
  • Demonstrated innovation champion, seeks learnings from other brands and other industries to innovate and enhance launch plans
  • Demonstrated matrix leadership and ability to foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork
  • Established business acumen and pharma industry/vaccines business knowledge
  • Solid understanding of today’s US pharmaceutical environment, with emphasis on the importance of following all Regulatory, Legal and Compliance-related guidelines
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written)
  • Strong analytical/planning skills and ability to multi-task under pressure
  • Proven track record of operating in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Demonstrated creativity and innovative idea development
  • Enthusiasm and self-motivation are essential

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $156,600.00 to $261,000.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
